Well Woman Exam

Well Woman Exam in Frisco

An annual well woman exam is an important part of maintaining good overall health for every woman. An annual exam also recognizes risk factors and identifies medical problems and is the best form of preventative care for certain cancers and reproductive abnormalities. Cervical cancer has a very high survival rate if detected early, up to 93%, and breast cancer has a survival rate of up to 100% if detected early. An annual well woman exam, or bi-annual for high risk women, is the absolute best way to protect yourself from these deadly diseases. The recommended age for women to start getting an annual well woman exam is 21, or younger if already sexually active.

Dr. White will conduct the following during the well-woman exam:

  • Breast exam – depending on age, a mammogram or bone density scan may be ordered.
  • Pelvic exam – depending on age, a Pap smear and possibly a test for the human Papilloma virus (HPV) may be performed.

She will discuss the following:

  • Changes in your physical and mental health
  • Talk about your lifestyle and its impact on your health
  • Analyze medications and supplements
  • Discuss sexual health and contraception, if applicable

Dr. White is committed to giving each of her patients a thorough review of their medical assessment, appropriate treatments, and advise on the risks and benefits in making decisions regarding their healthcare.
